Epstein alleged that Maccabi Tel Aviv officials, including CEO Jack Anglidis and professional director Steven Vaharnik, threatened to blacklist him if he refused.

Epstein further stated that Maccabi Tel Aviv contacted Nicolaescu directly, informing him the transfer would not proceed unless the agent fee was waived. Nicolaescu reportedly refused to interfere in his agent's financial matters. Following the breakdown of negotiations, Maccabi Tel Aviv issued a statement indicating they would not work with Epstein in the future due to his conduct and public statements.
