IDF Soldiers Injured in Lebanon; Israel Strikes Hezbollah Targets

Two Israeli soldiers were lightly injured on Saturday when their engineering vehicle struck a Hezbollah explosive device in the security zone in southern Lebanon. The soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment, and their families were notified. Immediately following the incident, the IDF launched retaliatory strikes against several Hezbollah terror infrastructure sites and observation posts in southern Lebanon from which operatives were targeting Israeli forces. The army emphasized that forces will continue to operate forcefully to remove threats in the area.

In response to the Hezbollah attack, the Northern Command announced that fighter jet strikes would commence in the coming hours along the Lebanon border as part of ongoing IDF operations. Residents in northern Israel, including the Upper Galilee, Hula Valley, Ramim Ridge, and northern Golan Heights, were advised to expect the sound of explosions.

Meanwhile, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, criticized the international community's response to Israeli actions, calling it a "test of conscience and collective responsibility." He stated that the events in Gaza, including civilian massacres and forced displacement, have now spread to Lebanon. Iran's Revolutionary Guards also issued a direct threat to block oil exports from the region if their own exports are impacted, warning that "if Iran is insecure, there will be no safe point in the region." The Guards' deputy political commander highlighted that the Strait of Hormuz is under full surveillance by their navy.

In other international news, the Pentagon informed Congress that the cost of the U.S. war against Iran has reached $45.1 billion. U.S. President Donald Trump is preparing to address the UN General Assembly, focusing on international conflicts, particularly Iran and Gaza, and will emphasize preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons. Trump also addressed an investigation into the funding of his son's wedding by a Russian oligarch, stating his son would return the funds. Separately, Cuba experienced a nationwide power grid collapse, leading to a complete blackout. The U.S. Embassy in Havana warned citizens of potential disruptions to cellular and internet service.
