Child Dies in Hit-and-Run Incident in Rahat
A seven-year-old child was killed in a hit-and-run incident in the city of Rahat in the Negev region on Friday evening. Paramedics were called to Road 264 near the city, where they found the child unconscious. Despite attempts to save his life, medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Paramedic Malik Abu Arar stated that the child was brought to them by a private car, unconscious, near the entrance to Rahat. He reported that the child had suffered a very serious injury and showed no signs of life. The police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and the child's death, confirming that the child was struck by a vehicle.
According to data from the National Road Safety Authority, 320 people, including 125 Arab citizens, have died in road accidents and hit-and-run incidents across Israel since the beginning of the year.
