Kerem Shalom Crossing to Close for Yom Kippur Holiday
Israeli authorities announced that the Kerem Shalom border crossing with the Gaza Strip will be temporarily closed on Sunday, September 20, and Monday, September 21. The closure is in observance of the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur and its associated restrictions.
During this two-day period, all movement through the crossing will be suspended. Kerem Shalom is a primary route for humanitarian aid entering Gaza, with hundreds of trucks passing through daily.
Following the conclusion of Yom Kippur, the crossing is scheduled to resume normal operations. The Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories stated that crossings will continue to function stably and meet the needs defined by the international community after the holiday break.
