Israel Airports Authority Announces Yom Kippur Closures and Schedule Updates

The Israel Airports Authority has announced updated operating hours for Ben Gurion, Ramon, and Haifa airports, as well as land border crossings, in observance of Yom Kippur. All air and land traffic will gradually cease on the eve of the holiday, Sunday, September 26, 2026, and will resume after the conclusion of Yom Kippur.

At Ben Gurion Airport, Terminal 1 will see its last departure at 1:00 PM and its last domestic arrival at 1:10 PM on September 26. Terminal 3's final departure is scheduled for 1:55 PM, with the last international arrival also at 1:55 PM on the same day. International flights will resume at Terminal 3 with the first international arrival at 10:30 PM and the first international departure at 11:30 PM on Monday, September 27. Terminal 1 will reopen for both international and domestic flights at 2:00 AM on Tuesday, September 28.

Ramon Airport near Eilat will halt all air traffic by 11:30 AM on Sunday, September 26, and will restart operations at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, September 28. Haifa Airport will cease operations after its last flight lands at 2:00 PM on Sunday, September 26, resuming service at 6:00 AM on Tuesday, September 28.

Land border crossings will also observe closures. The Allenby crossing will close at 11:00 AM on Sunday, September 26, and will return to normal hours on Tuesday, September 28. The Begin crossing will close at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 26, reopening at 10:00 PM on Monday, September 27. Rabin crossing will close at 12:00 PM on Sunday, September 26, returning to regular hours on Tuesday, September 28. The Jordan River crossing will close at 12:00 PM on Sunday, September 26, with the last passenger reception at 10:30 AM, and will resume normal operations on Tuesday, September 28.
