Qatar Pledges 1.3 Million Liters of Fuel to Gaza via UN Agreement

Qatar announced Thursday it has signed an agreement with the United Nations to provide approximately 1.3 million liters of fuel to the Gaza Strip as a grant. According to Qatar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the fuel is intended to support hospitals, medical centers, and other essential humanitarian services operating in the densely populated territory.

The Qatari foreign ministry stated that the grant aims to ensure the continued operation of medical facilities and humanitarian organizations serving Gaza's approximately 2.1 million residents, including vulnerable populations like children, women, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. This latest contribution is part of Qatar's ongoing aid efforts to Gaza since the outbreak of the current conflict.

Qatar has previously supplied significant fuel assistance to the Strip. Official figures indicate that between October 7, 2023, and the end of March 2026, Qatar had already delivered around 30 million liters of fuel to Gaza. The new grant underscores Qatar's commitment to addressing the ongoing humanitarian needs within the territory, supporting both critical infrastructure and vital services reliant on fuel.
