Gaza Health Ministry: Israeli Claims on Aid Contradict dire Humanitarian Reality

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has issued a stark warning regarding the severe shortages of fuel and medical supplies impacting hospital operations within the Strip. The ministry is appealing to the international community for immediate intervention to secure essential medical provisions, fuel, and the opening of border crossings.

According to the ministry, hospitals are critically low on fuel needed to operate electricity generators, raising concerns that this could lead to the cessation of services in vital medical departments. The fuel shortage has also reportedly paralyzed transportation, hindering the ability of doctors and medical staff to reach healthcare facilities.

Addressing the issue of aid, the Ministry of Health stated that Israel's public statements about facilitating aid into Gaza represent, in their words, "a blatant attempt to whitewash the genocide." The ministry has formally addressed the international community, urging swift action to allow the entry of fuel and medical supplies, emphasizing that "every minute that passes without the entry of fuel and medical supplies means that the lives of many people are at risk."

Furthermore, the ministry called for the lifting of the blockade on the Gaza Strip and the immediate opening of its crossings. They also requested the evacuation of patients requiring medical treatment outside the Gaza Strip.
