Israel Approves Salary Increases for Law Enforcement Personnel
Israel's Ministry of National Security and Ministry of Finance have finalized an agreement to raise the salaries of various law enforcement officers, effective September. The deal allocates an additional 23 million shekels annually to improve service conditions and boost morale.
The most significant raise, 3,000 shekels per month, will go to administrative staff of the Border Police (MAGAV) serving in Judea and Samaria. Traffic accident investigators will receive a fixed bonus of 2,000 shekels monthly. Current officers in forensic units will maintain their existing allowances.
Other personnel will also see increases. Unranked officers directly involved in investigating road accidents can expect an average increase of 1,600 shekels. Motorcycle police officers will receive a monthly bonus of approximately 700 shekels, attributed to the increased professional risks associated with their daily duties.
National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stated that the agreement is the result of extensive work between his ministry and the Ministry of Finance. He emphasized that this initiative complements other recent measures aimed at improving the social welfare of police officers and reiterated his commitment to advocating for rank-and-file personnel.
