Israeli Police Secure Significant Salary and Pension Increases for Officers

Israel Police announced Thursday that a long-term negotiation with the Ministry of Finance has resulted in significant agreements to improve the salaries and pensions of police officers across several units. The breakthrough comes after nearly a decade of efforts to advance these improvements.

Key agreements include enhanced compensation for officers in the Border Police's West Bank division, recognizing the unique challenges of their service. Forensic investigators will be moved to a higher pay grade, and traffic accident investigators will receive a monthly pension supplement of NIS 2,000, including calculations for budgetary pensions and bridging.

Existing identification officers will maintain their current high pay grade, while new identification officers recruited for mobile labs will receive a new police activity pay grade, also amounting to a NIS 2,000 monthly pension supplement. Efforts are also ongoing to increase the salaries of motorcycle officers.

The police stated that these agreements are the result of intensive work and professional negotiations, reflecting recognition of the officers' professionalism, responsibility, and contribution to public security. Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai called it a significant achievement after a decade of effort, emphasizing the duty to ensure officers' pay and conditions reflect their responsibilities. He pledged continued efforts to secure further salary increases and improve service conditions for all police personnel.
