Israel Finalizes New Police Salary Agreement, Boosting Operational Roles

Israel's Ministry of National Security and the Ministry of Finance have signed a new salary agreement for police officers, allocating an annual budget of NIS 23 million (approximately $6.2 million USD). This agreement introduces significant pay raises for various operational positions within the Israel Police and the Border Police (Magav).

Key beneficiaries include traffic accident investigators, who will receive an additional NIS 2,000 (approximately $540 USD) per month. The headquarters of the Judea and Samaria Border Police will be upgraded to Activity Level A, resulting in a raise of about NIS 3,000 (approximately $810 USD) monthly. Crime scene investigators are set to receive an average increase of NIS 1,600 (approximately $430 USD) per month, while motorcycle officers will get an extra NIS 700 (approximately $190 USD) monthly.

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir praised the agreement, stating, "At a time when many talk, we are acting for the benefit of the police officers. This agreement is the result of professional work with the Treasury and joins a series of steps we have taken for them during this term." He emphasized that the government is taking action for the officers, contrasting it with mere talk.
