Israel Finalizes New Police Salary Agreement, Boosting Officer Pay

Israel's Ministry of National Security and the Ministry of Finance have signed a new salary agreement valued at 23 million shekels annually, introducing significant raises for various operational roles within the Israel Police and the Border Police (Magav). The agreement aims to improve compensation for officers in critical positions.

Under the new terms, traffic accident investigators will receive a monthly increase of 2,000 shekels. The headquarters of the Judea and Samaria Border Police (Magav) will be upgraded to Activity Level A, resulting in an approximate 3,000 shekel monthly raise. Crime scene investigators are set to gain an average of 1,600 shekels per month, and motorcycle officers will see a monthly supplement of around 700 shekels.

Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir praised the agreement, stating, "In a time when many talk, we act for the benefit of the police officers. This agreement is the result of professional work with the Treasury and joins a series of steps we have taken during this term for them." He emphasized the government's commitment to improving the working conditions and financial well-being of police personnel.

The agreement is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the police force's capabilities and morale, particularly for those in demanding operational roles. The salary increases are expected to take effect soon, following the finalization of the agreement.
