Prominent Rabbi Addresses Hasmonean Brigade Soldiers on Torah Study
Rabbi Benjamin Houtha, a prominent Sephardic halachic authority, delivered a lesson to hundreds of soldiers from the Hasmonean Brigade. The gathering took place on Thursday evening at the Great Synagogue in Ramat Gan, serving as a preparatory event for Yom Kippur.
During the session, Rabbi Houtha spoke about the concept of repentance and the laws pertaining to the Sukkot holiday. He emphasized the critical importance of consistent Torah study for the soldiers.
"If a day passes for you without several hours of Torah study, even if you have returned from a difficult march, you have failed," Rabbi Houtha stated. He further explained, "The milk you have nursed since childhood is Torah, and you must not skip this at any cost."
The event aimed to provide spiritual encouragement and guidance to the soldiers as they approached the High Holy Days.
