Ofer Fabian Appointed Professional Director for Million-Dollar Eilat Project
Ofer Fabian has been appointed the new professional director for the ambitious "million-dollar project" of the Liga Alef (League B) football club, Hapoel Eilat. This appointment comes about a week and a half after Kobi Refua concluded his tenure with the club.
Fabian, a former Maccabi Haifa player, was the leading candidate to succeed Refua. He recently served as the professional director for the youth departments at Maccabi Haifa. The club has been in advanced negotiations with Fabian, and the move is expected to become official soon.
Refua's departure was earlier than anticipated, despite signing a three-year contract worth NIS 400,000 per season, which also included benefits like a car, fuel card, and hotel accommodation.
The Eilat club has attracted significant players for a Liga Alef team, including Gidi Kanyuk, Gil Yitzhak, and Ofek Fishler. The clear objective behind these signings and the project is to lead Hapoel Eilat to the top leagues in Israeli football.
