Iran Rallies Against US, Israel, Vows Readiness for War

Hundreds of thousands of Iranians participated in a state-organized rally in Tehran on Friday, expressing support for the regime and opposition to the United States and Israel. Demonstrators declared their readiness to take up arms should hostilities resume, marking the largest such mobilization since the start of the war in February. Volunteers in military uniforms marched in the capital's center, waving flags and receiving cheers from the crowd as part of an initiative called "Janfaday-e Iran," meaning "those who sacrifice their lives for Iran." The rally follows months of conflict with the U.S. and Israel. Since the launch of their military campaign against Iran on February 28, Iranian authorities have sought to project national unity and the capacity to continue the confrontation. The event also occurs amid severe economic hardship for Iran, burdened by a U.S. naval blockade of its ports and new sanctions aimed at increasing pressure on Tehran. Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian recently acknowledged the sanctions' impact, noting a 25% to 35% decrease in imports and exports recently.

Furthermore, the demonstration takes place as former U.S. President Donald Trump considers escalating American strikes against Iran, stating this week that he must make an "important decision" regarding future military operations.
