Police have arrested a man in his 30s after a video posted on social media showed him apparently walking into a woman in Jaffa and knocking her to the ground without any visible reason. The incident happened on Harutzim Street, and the footage circulating on Saturday showed the woman thrown to the pavement and left motionless after the impact.
A nearby business owner saw what happened, ran outside to help, and the man briefly stayed at the scene, apparently pretending to assist the victim as if it had been an accident. He then left shortly afterward.
After the video was published, three women told police or reporters that the suspect had also bumped into them. The recording led police to open an investigation, and the suspect was located in southern Tel Aviv.
Police said the man was taken in for questioning and that, depending on the investigation’s findings, they will decide whether to ask a court to extend his detention.
