Eyal Berkovic Calls Son 'Zero' After Failed Date Over Derby Controversy
Israeli football legend Eyal Berkovic shared a story on his podcast, 'The Magician and His Sons,' detailing his son Lior's unsuccessful attempt to impress a woman.
Lior Berkovic asked his father to secure tickets for the highly sought-after Tel Aviv derby match, specifically for the legendary Hapoel Tel Aviv fan section, Gate 5. Eyal initially described the request as difficult but eventually managed to obtain the tickets, expressing frustration over his son's obsession with the matter, especially since it was for a woman.
After receiving the tickets and thanking Lior, the woman's reaction changed dramatically the following day. This shift occurred after a controversial celebration by Maccabi Tel Aviv player Osher Davida during the derby, where he made a 'pew pew' gesture towards the crowd. While Eyal Berkovic downplayed the incident, calling Davida a 'kid,' Lior's date apparently made a significant issue out of it.
According to Lior, the woman unfollowed him on Instagram in response to the controversy. Reacting to this outcome, Eyal Berkovic humorously told his son, 'You are a zero.'
