Comedian Slams Footballer's Son After Israel Team's Loss

Following the Israeli national football team's disappointing 3-0 defeat to Ireland in Debrecen, tensions are running high both on and off the field. A planned stand-up comedy show by Guy Hochman, intended to boost team morale, was officially canceled due to the poor performance.

Lior Berkovitz, son of former Israeli football legend Eyal Berkovitz, publicly criticized the cancellation. He shared a report about the canceled show and commented, "If I were a national team player and this was my after-party, I would have preferred to lose from the start." This remark was aimed at implying the team's performance was so bad that even a comedy show couldn't salvage the mood.

Hochman, known for engaging in online disputes, responded sharply to Berkovitz's jab. In a pointed Instagram story, Hochman drew a comparison to another player's son, Roy Revivo, son of Haim Revivo, who is also on the national team. Hochman questioned, "How did Revivo's son become a national team player and Berkovitz's son turn out like this?" The insult was a direct attack on Lior Berkovitz's character and implied he was undeserving of his connection to the national team.

Earlier, Hochman had expressed understanding regarding the cancellation of his performance. He stated, "I received the message this morning and I completely understand. What Israeli wants to see the national team laughing after such a display? This is not the time for a good time, this is the time to give them quiet. The great honor of performing for our national team will come, at the right time, after the right victory."
