Hapoel Tel Aviv Owners Seen Together for First Time at Derby
For the first time, the owners of the Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball club were seen together at a game. Billionaire Alan Howard, along with his partners Ofer Yanai, Mickey Malka, and Gili Re'anan, attended the "Social Super Cup" match against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Thursday evening at the Yad Eliyahu Arena. This marks the initial public appearance of the full ownership group since their involvement with the club.
Howard, a British Jewish businessman and co-founder of Brevan Howard, holds a 20% stake in Yanai Sport, the company that owns approximately 81% of Hapoel Tel Aviv. The remaining shares are held by the Hapoel Osishkin association. Yanai owns 40% of Yanai Sport, while Malka and Re'anan each hold 20%.
Howard, 61, is a hedge fund manager whose net worth is estimated at nearly $4 billion, placing him among the world's wealthiest individuals. The team was also showcasing its new roster for the 2026/27 season during the event.
