Hapoel Tel Aviv Owners Seen Together for First Time at Derby
For the first time, the owners of the Hapoel Tel Aviv basketball club were seen together at a game on Thursday evening. The group, including British billionaire Alan Howard, attended the "Social Super Cup" match against Maccabi Tel Aviv at the Yad Eliyahu Arena. Howard, who holds a 20% stake in Yanai Sport, the company that owns approximately 81% of the club, was present with his partners Ofer Yanai (40%), Miki Malka (20%), and Gili Re'anan (20%). The remaining shares are held by the Hapoel Osishkin association.
Alan Howard, 61, is a hedge fund manager and co-founder of Brevan Howard. His net worth is estimated at nearly $4 billion, placing him among the world's wealthiest individuals. The appearance marks a significant moment for the club, showcasing unified ownership as they present their new roster for the 2026/27 season.
