Syrian Forces Suffer Losses in Failed Raid Against ISIS Cell

Syrian security forces launched a raid on an ISIS cell in the southern city of al-Sanamayn, approximately 30 kilometers from the Israeli border, resulting in the deaths of three security personnel and injuries to others. The operation, aimed at capturing the armed militants who had barricaded themselves and refused to surrender, was unsuccessful. ISIS members remain at large in the area, and a temporary curfew has been imposed.

According to official statements, the Syrian forces failed in their mission to apprehend the ISIS operatives. Government sources confirmed that security forces are deployed throughout the city in pursuit of the militants. The ISIS cell was reportedly holed up in al-Sanamayn, and the militants have not yet been captured.

Syria officially joined the international coalition against ISIS late last year, following persistent attacks by the terrorist organization, primarily targeting Syrian security forces. The conflict between ISIS and Syrian rebels, who ousted Assad from power nearly two years ago, continues.
