Dixon Mohamed Scores on Debut for Hapoel Afula
Dixon Mohamed, the younger brother of Maccabi Haifa's Ali Mohamed, scored on his debut for Hapoel Afula in their match against Kfar Shalem on Thursday. The goal, which leveled the score at 2-2 during the game that ultimately ended in a 3-3 draw, came from a long-range shot that deflected off an opposing player before finding the net.
Mohamed, who is 13 years younger than his brother, had been training with Maccabi Haifa's senior team under coach Barak Bakhar. The club had been monitoring his progress for some time before loaning him to the National League team about a week ago.
Maccabi Haifa's initial connection with Dixon Mohamed dates back to July 2022. His brother Ali, who is not considered a foreign player, previously served as his guardian. Last season, Dixon trained with the youth team, which had a successful Champions League campaign, but he did not play in official matches.
