Maccabi Haifa Loans Young Midfielder Dickson Mohamed to Hapoel Afula

Maccabi Haifa has officially loaned out young midfielder Dickson Mohamed, 18, to Hapoel Afula until the end of the current season. Mohamed, who is also the brother of current Maccabi Haifa player Ali Mohamed, recently signed a long-term professional contract with the club before being sent out on loan to the National League team.

The younger Mohamed, 13 years younger than his brother, participated in training sessions with Maccabi Haifa's senior squad under coach Barak Bakhar. Club officials have been monitoring his progress for an extended period. The initial connection between Maccabi Haifa and Dickson Mohamed dates back to July 2024, nearly two years ago, when Ali Mohamed, who is not considered a foreign player, acted as his guardian.

Described as having a playing style very similar to his brother's, the young Nigerian midfielder is known for his physicality and ability to initiate quick attacks from the center of the field. He can play multiple positions, typically as a defensive midfielder (number 6) or a box-to-box midfielder (number 8), and has also been tested as a left winger. Last season, he trained with the youth team that had a successful Champions League campaign, though he did not play in matches.
