IDF Deploys Armored Vehicles in West Bank Ahead of Jewish Holidays

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are intensifying security operations in the West Bank, particularly around Nablus (Shchem), as they prepare for the upcoming Jewish holidays, including Yom Kippur, Sukkot, and Simchat Torah. Units from the Nahal Brigade are conducting a large-scale counter-terrorism operation, having searched over 1,200 sites and facilities in recent months. During these operations, forces uncovered a bomb-making laboratory and interrogated approximately 930 suspects, leading to the arrest of 230 wanted individuals.

More than 100 weapons, including M-16 rifles, submachine guns, pistols, magazines, and ammunition, were confiscated. Advanced "Eitan" armored personnel carriers, operated by Nahal Brigade forces, have been observed in the Huwara area near Nablus, indicating a reinforced military presence. The deployment of these heavy armored vehicles in "hot zones" signifies an increased operational grip by the IDF in the region.

The military is on high alert, with heightened readiness levels to ensure the safety of thousands of expected travelers visiting tourist sites, established communities, and new settlements throughout Judea and Samaria during the holidays. Forces are being reinforced along routes and at friction points to secure the public.
