Rabbi Dies After Falling From Emergency Window at Jerusalem Yeshiva

A tragic accident occurred Thursday morning at the Beit Midrash Elyon yeshiva in Bnei Brak, Israel, when Rabbi Tuvia Kampha, a married student known as an "avreich," fell to his death from an upper-floor emergency window. The window, installed to meet fire department requirements, was located in the yeshiva's library area where Rabbi Kampha had gone to study.

According to reports from the yeshiva, Rabbi Kampha was studying the tractate Makkot with friends earlier in the morning before ascending to the library. While studying, he apparently stumbled and fell through the window. Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and performed extensive resuscitation efforts, but were ultimately forced to declare him dead at the location.

The incident has deeply shocked and saddened the entire yeshiva community. The funeral procession was scheduled to depart from the yeshiva building at 4:30 PM and proceed to the Yarkon Cemetery.

In a separate incident reported at the yeshiva, a student recited a blessing, "Shehecheyanu," upon arriving, to which the Rosh Yeshiva (head of the yeshiva) reacted by covering his ears and admonishing the student, calling the blessing "in vain."
