Teenager Arrested at Home After Fleeing Police on E-Scooter in Jerusalem
A 17-year-old resident of the Gilo neighborhood in Jerusalem was arrested at his home after allegedly evading a police officer and committing multiple traffic violations. The incident began when a police officer on a motorcycle patrol spotted the teenager riding an electric scooter on Begin Road without a helmet or license plate.
When the officer signaled for him to stop, the teenager reportedly continued riding, running red lights, driving on the sidewalk, and traveling against traffic. He also allegedly crossed pedestrian crossings without yielding to pedestrians. The officer decided to terminate the pursuit to avoid endangering other road users, having recorded the suspect's face.
Following investigative actions, police identified the teenager and located him at his residence. He was apprehended and taken for questioning at the Jerusalem Traffic Division. After the investigation, a traffic file was opened against him, and he was summoned for a fast-track judicial process at the Traffic Court.
