Channel 14 Anchor Apologizes for Personal Offenses Ahead of Yom Kippur

Channel 14 anchor Dana Varon issued a live apology to viewers on Thursday, ahead of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement. "I ask forgiveness from anyone I have personally offended," Varon stated. She clarified that her apology was not for her ideology but for causing personal harm, emphasizing that while disagreements are permissible, they should not lead to animosity. Varon also expressed her forgiveness to all Jewish people.

Separately, Itamar Fleishman, a journalist and panelist on Channel 14's "The Patriots" program, spoke with Omri Assenheim on Channel 13 about the heavy feelings he experiences after some broadcasts and the online reactions he receives. Assenheim asked Fleishman if he ever felt disgusted with himself after returning home, to which Fleishman responded affirmatively. "Your hands are always in the mud. There's no escaping that the mud will affect you, and you cause it, there are days like that," Fleishman explained.

Fleishman described his post-broadcast routine, stating he doesn't go straight to bed but sits on the balcony, feeling dejected. He also mentioned that on such days, he deliberately reads harsh online comments to learn from them, acknowledging that this happens frequently.
