Gadi Eisenkot Party Accuses Smotrich of Dangerous Incitement Over AI Video
The National Unity Party, led by Gadi Eisenkot, has demanded that Bezalel Smotrich, chairman of the Religious Zionism party, immediately remove an AI-generated video. The party's leadership stated that the material must be taken down from public access.
The controversial video depicts Supreme Court President Yitzhak Amit and Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara as protesters being arrested by police with burning streets in the background. Eisenkot's party set a strict deadline of 3:00 PM for the video's removal.
Eisenkot's party described the publication as dangerous incitement that crosses all acceptable lines in public discourse. Their official letter also noted that creating and distributing such a video constitutes a criminal offense.
According to the party's lawyers, the video violates Article 255 of the Israeli Penal Code. This article prohibits publishing statements or materials targeting judges in relation to their official duties if the intent is to harm their status, create suspicion, or undermine judicial authority.
