Kinneret Beaches Open for Yom Kippur, But Swimming Prohibited

Ahead of the Yom Kippur holiday, the Kinneret Cities Association has announced arrangements for public access to the Sea of Galilee's beaches. While the beaches themselves will remain open, swimming will be strictly prohibited due to the suspension of lifeguard services. Lifeguard services will cease on Sunday, September 20th, at 2:00 PM and will not resume until after Yom Kippur concludes on Monday evening, September 21st, at 8:00 PM. Security and cleaning services will also be halted during this period. The Association emphasized that even though the beaches are accessible, entering the water is forbidden and dangerous without lifeguard supervision. They urged the public to adhere to these regulations. The ban applies to all Association-managed beaches, including Hukok North, Mevo'ot Amon, Kinner, Douga, Dougit, Golan, Kursi, Levnon, Chalukim, Gofra, Sussita, Tzemach, Tsinbari, Berniki, and Sakam. Lifeguard services are scheduled to resume after the holiday.
