Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, has definitively closed the door on any possibility of agreeing to a rotation government or power-sharing deal with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or any other candidate. In an interview with Reshet Bet, Eisenkot strongly criticized the system of alternate premierships.

"Rotation is not on the table," Eisenkot stated. "In principle, and I have said this dozens of times before, I am opposed to this whole concept of an alternate prime minister. I oppose rotation."

He elaborated, "A prime minister should be elected for four years to implement plans and advance internal and regional moves. Therefore, two different statements: Netanyahu, like all cabinet members on October 7th, is unfit to lead. And regarding rotation, I categorically oppose an alternate government and rotation, and all the tricks and schemes that have accompanied us in recent years."

Eisenkot also implied that Naftali Bennett, a former prime minister, should not have been in the role, suggesting that Yair Lapid should have been the prime minister instead. He believes that the current political maneuvering and power-sharing arrangements undermine effective governance.
