Land Dispute in Israel Escalates to Grenade Attacks and Extortion

Prosecutors have filed charges against three men from the towns of Iksal and Nazareth in northern Israel, accusing them of threatening a resident of Iksal and his family by throwing hand grenades at their homes. The dispute centers on the ownership of a plot of land in Iksal. According to police reports, the land legally belongs to the victim, but was mistakenly registered in the name of one of the accused. The accused allegedly hired a criminal organization to pressure the victim.

Investigators revealed that the victim reported the threats to the police on August 13th, stating his life and his family's lives were in danger due to the land ownership conflict. The accused demanded "compensation" of one million shekels for the land, which was erroneously registered to one of them. They also invited the victim to a meeting to negotiate the sum.

When the victim refused to comply with their demands, he received direct threats, including statements like "If you don't pay, you will lose one or two or three people, and in any case, you will pay, instead of one million you will pay two million." The Northern District police, using advanced technological methods, arrested three suspects aged 32, 36, and 50, from Iksal and Nazareth.

Following the investigation, which included gathering evidence of the threats and grenade attacks on the victim's and his relatives' homes, the Northern District Prosecutor's Office submitted an indictment against the three men to the Nazareth-Nof Hagalil Magistrate's Court. Police emphasized their continued commitment to combating crime and bringing suspects to justice.
