Israeli Forces Injure Palestinians, Arrest Dozens in West Bank Raids
Israeli forces conducted widespread raids across the occupied West Bank overnight Wednesday and into Thursday, resulting in injuries and numerous arrests. In Qalqilya, four Palestinians were wounded by live ammunition and one by tear gas during incursions that saw homes raided and some turned into military posts. Palestinian Red Crescent crews reported one youth shot in the leg and another with disabilities affected by tear gas, with both taken to hospital. Earlier, Israeli forces had entered the city, firing live rounds and tear gas in the Qara'an neighborhood, injuring three other youths with moderate wounds.
Further south, in the town of Hajjah east of Qalqilya, at least 23 young men were arrested after homes were searched amid a heavy military presence. Israeli forces also briefly entered the town of Baqa al-Hattab, east of Qalqilya, without reporting any arrests or injuries. In Nablus, forces entered the city at dawn, raiding homes around the Ein refugee camp and arresting several Palestinians, including a girl and her father. Residents in the area were ordered to evacuate their homes via loudspeakers, and one house was seized and used as a military post. Schools near the area suspended classes for the day.
In the Tulkarm Governorate, forces raided the towns of Saida and Allar, using drones and seizing a home in Saida belonging to a released prisoner, turning it into a temporary detention and interrogation center. Several Palestinians, including former prisoners, were arrested, interrogated, and assaulted before being released later in the morning. These operations are part of an ongoing Israeli military campaign in the Tulkarm area. In Abu Dis, east of occupied Jerusalem, dozens of young men were arrested, and the local youth club was taken over and used for interrogations, with its contents reportedly damaged.
Israeli forces also searched a home in Jabal al-Nawarah, east of Bethlehem, without making arrests. The article notes a general increase in Israeli raids across West Bank cities, towns, and camps, accompanied by settler violence under Israeli military protection.
