Trump to Meet Gulf Leaders on Iran Strategy at UN

U.S. President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet with leaders from Gulf states next Tuesday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. The meeting aims to discuss the next steps in the confrontation with Iran, according to a report by Axios citing three sources familiar with the matter. The discussions are expected to focus on formulating an American strategy for the post-conflict phase, with Trump's senior staff currently working on a "day after" plan anticipated to mature after the midterm elections.

Invitations for the meeting, sent by the State Department, were extended to leaders and foreign ministers from Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman. The expectation is that the attendee list may expand to include additional leaders from the Arab and Muslim world.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is reportedly interested in meeting with Trump during his New York visit. However, an Israeli official indicated that a date for such a meeting has not yet been coordinated.

Speaking with reporters in South Carolina, Trump stated, "Iran very, very much wants to make a deal." When asked about the U.S. stage in the conflict with Iran, Trump responded, "I hope we are getting close to the end of the war. We will see how it goes."
