Or Yehuda Mayor Inaugurates New School Year at Talmud Torah

Or Yehuda Mayor Liath Shochat and Chief Rabbi Tzvi Cohen officially opened the new school year at the "Seiach Yaakov Bnei Yosef" Talmud Torah in Or Yehuda. This marks the sixth academic year for the institution, which is starting with 144 students across six classrooms, serving grades one through six.

A large municipal delegation accompanied the mayor and rabbi, including deputy mayors, the city manager, treasurer, head of the education department, and head of emergency preparedness. They met with the school's principal, Rabbi Yosef Chaim Katanov, and other staff, including Rabbi Edward Narkis, to receive an overview of the school's preparations.

The mayor and rabbi then visited classrooms, speaking with teachers and students about their learning experiences and expectations for the upcoming year. The Or Yehuda Municipality, through its education facilities maintenance department, conducted extensive renovations on the upper floor classrooms to provide a modern, safe, and welcoming learning environment.

Mayor Shochat expressed her excitement for the school's sixth year, emphasizing the municipality's commitment to providing quality education for all children in the city, regardless of their background. She affirmed the city's continued investment in educational institutions, improving learning environments, and equipping staff to foster student success. Shochat wished students, teachers, and administration a productive, safe, and blessed academic year.
