Or Yehuda Opens School Year With New Facilities and 9,700 Students

The school year in Or Yehuda commenced smoothly and safely, with approximately 9,693 students, aged 3 to 18, returning to kindergartens and schools. This academic year marks a significant upgrade in educational infrastructure, highlighted by the opening of two new schools, "Saadia Gaon" and the communication-focused "Gvanim," along with a new kindergarten cluster and daycare center in the Neve Ayalon neighborhood, and another advanced kindergarten cluster on Ha'Kalanit Street. These new facilities were developed by the Or Yehuda Economic Development Company.

In addition to new construction, the Or Yehuda Municipality invested millions of shekels over the summer in renovations, upgrades, and safety improvements for existing educational institutions. These efforts, managed by the Department of Maintenance of Educational and Public Institutions, focused on enhancing safety, accessibility, and learning environments.

Mayor Liath Shohat, accompanied by municipal officials and representatives from the Ministry of Education's Tel Aviv District, including District Manager Revital Shapira, toured the new schools and facilities. Mayor Shohat emphasized the improved educational infrastructure and thanked all staff involved in preparing the schools for the students.

To celebrate the first day, the municipality distributed unique gifts to students: first graders received branded mousepads, and seventh graders received insulated water bottles with digital temperature displays. City officials will continue touring educational institutions throughout the week to monitor student and staff integration.
