Netanyahu's VR Goggles Spark Opposition's Scathing Criticism

Images of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu wearing virtual reality (VR) goggles have become a focal point for opposition parties, who have seized upon the visuals to launch sharp political attacks. The opposition utilized the photos, which circulated widely on social media, to criticize the prime minister's perceived detachment from reality.

Yair Golan, chairman of the Democratic Party, shared a picture of Netanyahu with the VR headset, captioning it, "When we see the truth, he needs virtual reality." This sentiment was echoed by Yair Lapid, chairman of Yesh Atid, who directly addressed Netanyahu, stating, "Netanyahu, look reality in the eye."

Israel Beiteinu also joined the fray, releasing an edited image depicting Netanyahu in the VR goggles. The doctored photo placed Sara Netanyahu and MK Oded Forer beside him, with the destruction from the October 7th attacks visible in the background. A message overlaid on the image declared, "Netanyahu needs virtual reality to escape the truth," followed by the accusatory statement, "You are responsible. You are guilty."

Both opposition parties employed a similar wordplay centered on "virtual reality" to transform the prime minister's VR usage into potent political messaging, each crafting their own distinct narrative to condemn his leadership.
