Thai Anger Over Israeli Tourists Threatens Bilateral Relations

The Israeli Embassy in Bangkok is working to contain growing anger among Thai residents and authorities towards Israeli tourists and businesspeople, according to Israeli media. Official diplomatic messages have warned that the "current behavior" of some Israelis could damage relations between Israel and Thailand. In response, the deputy ambassador appeared in local media, addressing the Thai public in Thai to de-escalate tensions.

Complaints reportedly focus on public disturbances, including loud noise, altercations, and playing music late at night. Criticism has also been leveled at Israeli-owned businesses displaying signs exclusively in Hebrew. Local residents have expressed frustration, stating, "We don't even understand what's written on your signs. You are the only people who come here and put up signs only in your language, and we are no longer willing to tolerate this."
