Shufersal Group Invests $27 Million in New Commercial Center in Negev

Shufersal Group has won a tender from the Israel Land Authority to establish a new commercial, employment, and tourism center in Ramat HaNegev. The project represents a significant expansion beyond the company's core retail operations and is expected to cost approximately 100 million shekels (about $27 million).

The planned center will span about 20 dunams (approximately 5 acres) and will include a total construction area of around 16,000 square meters. Shufersal plans to operate a supermarket within the center, alongside other retail stores, businesses, and dining and entertainment facilities. The location, adjacent to Highway 40, a major route to Eilat and Mitzpe Ramon, is strategically chosen to serve not only local residents but also travelers, military base personnel, and people from nearby communities.

This development is the latest in Shufersal's recent real estate ventures. In the past month alone, the group announced two other property deals totaling approximately 154 million shekels. These include the acquisition of full rights to the Kordani complex in Kiryat Motzkin for about 85 million shekels and the purchase of a commercial center under construction in Netanya for roughly 69 million shekels. A Shufersal supermarket is also slated to open in the Netanya center.

The Ramat HaNegev project aims to address a lack of large commercial centers in the region, offering consumers a consolidated location for shopping, services, and leisure activities, anchored by a Shufersal supermarket.
