Shufersal Wins Tender for Negev Commercial Hub, Investing $27 Million

Shufersal Group has won a tender from the Israel Land Authority to establish a commercial, employment, and tourism center in the Ramat Negev Regional Council. The total investment for the project is estimated at approximately 100 million shekels (about $27 million USD).

The project will span about 20 dunams (5 acres) of land with approved zoning for a commercial and employment center covering approximately 16,000 square meters (172,000 sq ft). Shufersal will plan and construct the center, which will feature a Shufersal supermarket as an anchor tenant, alongside various other businesses. The center is designed to offer a range of services, entertainment, and dining options.

It is expected to serve residents of the Ramat Negev Regional Council, personnel from nearby military bases, and travelers on Highway 40 heading towards Mitzpe Ramon and Eilat, acting as a local and tourist anchor in the region. Ramat Negev is Israel's largest regional council by area and has seen significant development in recent years, with government and local investments in infrastructure and quality of life.

Ramat Negev Regional Council head, Eran Doron, welcomed Shufersal, thanking them for their trust in the region's growth potential. The article also notes Shufersal's recent acquisitions of other commercial properties, including the remaining rights in the Kordani complex in Kiryat Motzkin for approximately 85 million shekels and a commercial center under construction in Netanya for about 69 million shekels, both of which will also include Shufersal branches.
