Hapoel Tel Aviv are continuing preparations for next season, with the club set to play in Conference League qualifying in about a month. Their expected headline signing is Tiemoko Diarra, the former Hapoel Haifa winger now at Reims, after Lousie Lousio was sold to Red Star Belgrade.
According to Sport 5, the gap in negotiations has narrowed significantly in recent days. A source familiar with the talks said, “There has been progress in the negotiations.” The same source added, “Until it is signed, it is not final. The situation is better than it was a few days ago.”
Club officials believe Diarra could sign a long-term contract within days. Reims has already reached an agreement on his transfer for 1.5 million euros. Diarra is expected to be the only foreign player brought in by Eliniv Barda’s side in the upcoming window.
Hapoel Tel Aviv will consider changing the current foreign-player setup for the coming season only if they identify another foreigner who would represent a major upgrade.
