Hapoel Tel Aviv had hoped to sign winger Tiemoko Diarra, but a report from Turkey on Wednesday says he is no longer headed to the Israeli club. According to the report, the former Hapoel Haifa player, who spent this season at Reims, has finalized terms with Kasimpasa and will join the Turkish first-division side.
Diarra, 23, had been close to becoming Hapoel Tel Aviv’s headline summer signing after the clubs had already settled the transfer terms with Reims. He was in advanced talks with the Reds, but had not completed his personal agreement. He has now reached a deal with Kasimpasa.
Kasimpasa finished 13th in Turkey last season and will not play in European competition this year. Diarra made 29 appearances in all competitions for Reims this season, as the French club finished sixth in Ligue 2, scoring four goals and adding four assists.
The Mali-born winger joined Reims at a young age, was later loaned to Chateauroux, where he posted six goals and five assists in France’s third division, and spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Hapoel Haifa, scoring seven goals. Before that move, he stood out for Mali’s Olympic team at the Paris 2024 Games, including in a match against Israel.
