Hapoel Tel Aviv Pushes to Finalize Deal for Diarra
Hapoel Tel Aviv are continuing efforts to sign winger Ibrahima Tiamoko Diarra from Reims and want the move completed before the start of preseason training. After selling Louizos Louizou to Red Star Belgrade, the club has shifted its focus to the Mali-born attacker.
According to the report, Hapoel Tel Aviv have already reached a broad agreement with Reims on the transfer fee. Talks are now intensifying with Diarra’s representatives in an effort to agree on the player’s contract terms with the Reds before training begins.
Diarra is also said to be in daily contact with his friend Fernand Mayembo, who plays for Hapoel Haifa, as the negotiations continue.
Separately, the club has decided that Dor Beniminy, who last season served as third goalkeeper behind Asaf Tzur and Gad Amos, will be the second goalkeeper this season. Beniminy therefore received the chance to start against Beitar Jerusalem. The 21-year-old joined Hapoel Tel Aviv three seasons ago from Maccabi Petah Tikva, spent one season in the youth team, and was second-choice keeper in the season that ended with promotion from the National League. He is also now the first-choice goalkeeper for Israel’s U21 national team and started six matches in Guy Luzon’s Euro qualifying campaign.
