Hapoel Tel Aviv is continuing its preparations for next season, when it is due to play in the Conference League qualifying rounds in about a month. The club’s biggest summer arrival is expected to be winger Tiamoko Diawara, formerly of Hapoel Haifa and currently at Reims, after Luiszo Luiso was sold to Red Star Belgrade.
According to Sport Channel, the gap between the sides has narrowed significantly in recent days. One source familiar with the talks said, "There has been progress in the negotiations. Until it is signed, it is not final. The situation is better than it was a few days ago."
Club officials believe Diawara could sign a long-term contract within days. An agreement has already been reached with Reims for his transfer for 1.5 million euros.
Diawara is expected to be the only foreign player to join Eliniv Barda’s squad in the current window. Hapoel Tel Aviv will only consider changing its existing foreign-player setup for the coming season if it finds a foreign signing that represents a significant upgrade.
