Arab Council Head Contradicts Izencoat's Account of Meeting
Moyed Elahib, head of the Tuba-Zangaria local council, has contradicted the version of events presented by Benny Gantz's National Unity party regarding a meeting with Arab local leaders. Elahib stated in an interview with Radio A-Nass that the party's announcement of support for Izencoat was inaccurate. He claimed that no support was declared, but rather that Izencoat promised to include the Ra'am party in the next government if they supported him.
This assertion adds to the ongoing political debate surrounding the possibility of Izencoat collaborating with Ra'am after the upcoming elections. The National Unity party had previously announced that several Arab local authority heads expressed support for Izencoat.
Izencoat himself recently stated that a Palestinian state would not be established under his leadership. Meanwhile, Ra'am has declared its intention to seek a coalition partnership in the next government.
