Arkia Boosts New York Flights with New Wide-Body Jet

Arkia Israeli Airlines has introduced a new wide-body Airbus A330-300 aircraft into service, significantly enhancing its long-haul operations, particularly on the route to New York.

The eight-year-old A330-300, featuring 245 seats across 45 business class and 200 economy class seats, made its inaugural flight from Tel Aviv to New York on Tuesday night. This aircraft joins Arkia's existing A330-200, increasing the airline's fleet of wide-body jets.

The addition of the A330-300 is part of Arkia's strategy to expand its presence in North America and other long-distance destinations. The New York route has become a key focus for the airline, and the new aircraft is expected to be primarily deployed there.

Arkia typically operates between three and four wide-body aircraft, with the exact number fluctuating based on flight schedules and operational needs. This move by Arkia follows Israir's recent launch of its own flights to New York, intensifying competition on the popular route for Israeli travelers.
