Clalit Distributes Water Kits for Yom Kippur Fast

As the Day of Atonement approaches, Clalit, Israel's largest healthcare organization, is preparing to distribute "water in measured doses" kits nationwide to assist individuals who require hydration during the fast for medical reasons. These kits will be available at over 100 Clalit clinics and medical centers across the country, from the northern cities of Safed and Tiberias to Arad and Ashkelon in the south. The distribution covers major cities including Jerusalem, Bnei Brak, Ashdod, Haifa, Netanya, Petah Tikva, and several others.

'Water in measured doses' refers to small quantities of water intended for those who must drink during the fast due to medical necessity. Rabbi Avraham Konsky, Director of the Haredi Department at Clalit, stated, "We are doing everything necessary to provide the essential tools and enable every Jew to fast safely, while safeguarding their health." He added that Clalit views providing adapted healthcare services to the Haredi public as paramount, especially during sensitive periods like Yom Kippur, and is committed to offering the necessary information and tools for safe fasting while maintaining health. This initiative is part of Clalit's ongoing effort to tailor services to community needs.
