Crime Boss Eran Haya to Be Extradited to Israel from US
Eran Haya, identified as a prominent Israeli crime boss, is set to be extradited from the United States to Israel in the coming days. A court in New York approved Israel Police's request to extradite Haya, who is currently detained in a US prison.
Haya is wanted by Israeli authorities for several offenses, most notably his alleged involvement in a foiled assassination attempt on rival crime figure Eli Mosli. The plot reportedly involved a large explosive device intended for Mosli in central Israel. The attempt was thwarted at the last minute, leading to the recruitment of an informant from Haya's organization who allegedly implicated him in the plan.
Haya, who holds multiple citizenships, has operated both within and outside Israel for an extended period. His organization has been engaged in a prolonged and violent feud with the Mosli crime family, prompting extensive police efforts to apprehend him.
Upon his arrival at Ben Gurion Airport, Haya will be met by detectives from the Tel Aviv District Crime Unit and Lahav 433, a special investigations unit. He will be taken directly to court to face a request for an extended remand as the investigation into the charges against him continues.
