Victory Supermarket Chain Slashes Prices on Staple Goods
The intense competition in Israel's food and retail market has escalated as the Victory supermarket chain, owned by CEO Eyal Ravid, relaunched its "Third Market" promotion across all its branches nationwide. This initiative aims to attract consumers amidst rising prices by offering significantly reduced prices on fresh produce and other essential items.
The promotion features staple vegetables like white cabbage, carrots, and tomatoes priced at an unprecedented 1 Israeli shekel per kilogram, with a minimum purchase requirement of 100 Israeli shekels. Additional discounts are available for purchases over 50 Israeli shekels, with various items like red beets, butternut squash, lettuce, and potatoes offered at 2.90 Israeli shekels. Other produce, including watermelon, red cabbage, onions, and sweet potatoes, are priced at 3.90 Israeli shekels, while eggplants, green peppers, and avocados are available for 4.90 Israeli shekels for club members.
Premium fruits and vegetables are also included in the sale. For instance, chili peppers, corn, peaches, and plums are priced at 7.90 Israeli shekels per kilogram. Higher-priced items like Lady apples, mangoes, and passion fruit are sold individually for 9.90 Israeli shekels. Yellow dates and white table grapes are 14.90 Israeli shekels per kilogram, with black table grapes at 19.90 Israeli shekels per kilogram.
Beyond per-kilogram pricing, Victory is offering bulk deals. Two units of vacuum-packed beets or radishes cost 10 Israeli shekels, three heads of garlic are 10 Israeli shekels, and two packages of mushrooms are 15 Israeli shekels. The promotion also extends to spreads, sauces, and packaged salads, with deals like 2 for 20 Israeli shekels. Fresh herbs and greens are available in bundles, such as 3 for 10 Israeli shekels for items like mint, parsley, and cilantro.
