Victory Supermarket Chain Begins Selling Discounted Gasoline Fuel Cards

Victory, a major Israeli supermarket chain, has expanded its product offerings to include discounted gasoline fuel cards, following a trend of supermarkets selling a wide range of non-food items. For the past two weeks, Victory has been selling Sonol fuel cards at a fixed discount of 55 agorot per liter. Customers can purchase a fuel card with a nominal value of 250 shekels for just 232.90 shekels, effectively paying 7.18 shekels per liter instead of the regular 7.73 shekels, saving 17.10 shekels per card.

Victory's CEO, Eyal Ravid, explained that the purchase process is simple: customers enter a store, request a fuel card, pay, and leave. Each customer can buy up to four cards without needing to purchase other products or meet any conditions. The cards are valid only at Sonol gas stations and expire at the end of the month in which they are purchased to protect customers from price fluctuations due to government fuel price regulations.

Ravid added that the promotion is expected to continue for the coming months, with the card values updated monthly according to government fuel price directives, while maintaining the 55 agorot per liter discount. This initiative reflects a growing trend among Israeli supermarket chains to diversify their product range beyond traditional groceries, including electronics, vehicles, and even real estate, aiming to provide consumers with additional savings amid rising household transportation costs.
