Israeli Gas Stations Compete With Loyalty Programs, Offering Savings With Caveats
Israeli gas stations have evolved into digital ecosystems, with brands like Yellow, TenApp, Joe Delek, Sonol, and Dor Alon vying for customers through cashback, bonuses, and loyalty clubs. However, these attractive offers often come with strict rules, limits, and expiring points.
A review of five major networks reveals that savings depend heavily on individual consumer habits. Yellow offers 10 agorot cashback per liter of fuel and 10% on in-store purchases, with accumulated funds usable at partners like Wolt and Super-Pharm. A key condition is accumulating at least 50 shekels per quarter, or the balance resets.
TenApp provides a low entry point, allowing cashback redemption after accumulating just 10 shekels, or a direct discount of 40 agorot per liter for self-service. However, all accumulated funds expire on January 1st each year.
Joe Delek offers 10 agorot per liter and 10% on network purchases, but the virtual currency cannot be used for fuel or electric car charging, only for ancillary products and fast food.
Sonol uses its own 'goods' points system without fixed activation thresholds. Dor Alon has shifted from loyalty wallets to instant coupons and integration with payment services like Cello or Diners' You card, offering consistent per-liter discounts.
The best app choice depends on driving habits: TenApp is ideal for infrequent drivers due to its low redemption threshold. Yellow suits those who frequently use partner services like food delivery. Dor Alon and external discount apps are recommended for families with multiple vehicles.
