Rabbi Avraham Amrosi Appointed Chief Rabbi of Kol Avitar Community

Rabbi Avraham Amrosi was officially appointed the chief rabbi of the Kol Avitar community in Givat Shmuel on Sunday. The community, which currently comprises approximately 150 families, was established in memory of fallen soldier Avitar Yosefi.

Rabbi Amrosi, a long-time resident and scholar at the Givat Shmuel community Beit Midrash, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Originally from Safed, he studied at the Hisfin Hesder Yeshiva and served as a combat soldier in the Egoz unit. His advanced studies began at the Shvut Hevron Yeshiva, followed by twelve years at the Givat Shmuel community Beit Midrash's Kollel.

During his tenure at the Beit Midrash, Rabbi Amrosi served under prominent rabbis, including Rabbi Mordechai Sternberg, Rabbi David Turner, and Rabbi Zvi Levenberg. He also delivered public Torah lectures, including a daily Daf Yomi class, and founded and taught at the "Tzemach David" Talmud Torah, educating hundreds of children.

The appointment ceremony was attended by his father, Rabbi Rachamim Amrosi of Safed, and included blessings from Rabbi Zvi Levenberg, Rabbi David Jiami, Rabbi Chananya Cohen, and Rabbi Avi Ben Dror. Speakers lauded Rabbi Amrosi's character, his Torah scholarship, and his dedication to those around him, describing him as a rabbi "full of Torah life."

Moshe Neeman, director of the Beit Midrash, congratulated Rabbi Amrosi, calling him "our friend and beloved," and expressed pride that one of their scholars was appointed to lead a community. He also wished all the scholars at the Beit Midrash success in their Torah studies and future rabbinical service.
